8. The guy who stood alone at the bar with a book (novel, Palace Dogs), turned face-down so as to show the picture of the author, who was the guy himself.
9. Strange 50-year-old man at a nightclub Saturday, who grabbed my leg and said (Seriously), "Them's some calf muscles. You a wrestler?"

Amazon.com has no rating for the book and no reviewer comments (by users or otherwise). The blurb says this:
You can be sure there are many experiences which shaped the bloody and wrinkled tapestry of the Vietnam War that may never see the light of day—-those stony faces in Graves and Registration, the bored and restless in Supply and Logistics, and the countless file clerks and cooks and munitions handlers toiling furiously in anonymity. Not everyone encountered the enemy in the traditional blood and guts sense as told in so many contexts over the years. English language instructors plowed through the dense experience of life in a war zone with a mixed appreciation for the grunts in the field, and with a shared lack of respect for those running the show. They also shared the burden of wearing a bull’s eye on their uniform, inviting a bullet or a bomb by the very fact of existing with an unrecognizable enemy.
I still have no idea what's going on with this book.
Yeah, I was really hoping for some reviews too. You'd think at a minimum the guy could get a couple of his friends to write some. Just a "Quick and enjoyable read" or something. But whatever.
